I usually kick these things off with something fun, maybe a little joke or an interesting factoid to ponder, but this is the 43rd one and it's made me wonder something: is it even possible to have fun 43 times? That's a lot of times! I was planning on having fun maybe 25 times tops for my whole, entire life and the rest of the time you know I'm on that grind life, just rising and grinding. On September 3rd, be sure to check out We Need To Do Something, a psychological horror film that was music supervised by SAS's very own Marchese Taylor and Jake Weinreb, with a score by SAS composer David Chapdelaine! The film centers on a family trapped in their bathroom during a tornado with "untold evils lurking behind the walls" and was shot in secret during the COVID-19 pandemic.
It looks too scary for me but I plan to listen to the whole thing with my hands covering my eyes since I'm confident the music is the best part anyway.

It sticks to a relatively traditional orchestral palette with a few quirkier, more playful elements sprinkled througout and features dynamic performances that ebb and flow between delicate and confident.

Brenton Wood - The Oogum Boogum Song - This fun, soulful throwback track has a catchy melody and an infectious beat that you can't help but tap your toe to. Tame Impala - Feels Like We Only Go Backwards - In some ways this track combines certain elements from the first two refs in that it has an unmistakeable dreamlike quality but also playful vocals, a catchy beat, and authentic, human performances. Production on this one is far more modern, however, and is combined with a sort of psychedelic, 60s art-pop influence.

The 100 Knights Orchestra - Soul Fugue - This brassy, funky track has a big band sound and a confident swagger that feels triumphant and exciting. Like a parade, a sports game, a Rocky montage and a James Bond film put together. The client who sent this one to us loved that it was organic and how certain sections would build up one layer at a time.

"Where can I see the work my music was licensed for?"
This is actually a deceptively complicated question as the answer depends largely on the specific deal terms of the license. In some cases, a web spot goes live shortly after you receive your placement email and can be found on youtube or ispot.tv. However, some spots may never be made available online, or may only be accessible through specific applications such as Snapchat or Tiktok. Others aren't available on demand but only play as pre-roll or during commercial breaks. Occasionally some spots are even shelved after the license is finalized and paid for and it never actually sees the light of the day!
We're always keeping our eyes peeled for recent work as it becomes public and do our best to archive as much of it as we can, so if you can't find it, we may be able to help.
